Perfume in a Pill?

Perfume in a Pill?

The days of spraying perfume on our skin could be coming to an end. Australia's Lucy McRae developed something called "Swallowable Parfum" which is literally a digestible scented capsule. It works by using the skin as an atomizer. The scent is "synthesized directly from the natural processes of the body, redefining the role of skin."

McRae explains it as "fragrance molecules are excreted through the skins surface during perspiration, leaving tiny droplets on the skin that emanate a unique odor. The potency of scent is determined by each individuals acclimatization to temperature, stress, exercise or sexual arousal."

I'm not sure if it's something people will be flocking to as many perfumes use chemicals that I would not suggest ingesting.

Furthermore, not being able to control how much scent one is emitting could be problematic. Imagine being next to someone that uses the "Swallowable Parfum" in a hot yoga class!? Neither can we.

Regardless, we wish Ms. McRae much success in the development process. Can't wait to see what other interesting things the future has in store!
